Cyber insurance

Effective June 1, 2021, every BC law firm with at least one physical location in BC and at least one lawyer paying the indemnity fee is eligible for the cyber insurance from Coalition, Inc., as long as the firm meets Coalition’s minimum network security requirements (checked annually). LIF pays the premium for this insurance.

Annually, the firm’s Designated Representative should download a Certificate of Insurance from the Member Portal to confirm the firm’s coverage. Full policy documentation is also available on the Portal. If no certificate is available, the firm does not have coverage.

1. Log in to the Member Portal
2. Scroll to “Law firm information”
3. Click the firm name
4. Click on “Cyber insurance”
5. Download the certificate and, if desired, the policy documentation

Updated certificates and policy documents are available on or around June 1st of each year.
